I am the kind of person who is late to bed, late to rise. So is Brandon. I was very surprised that I woke up around 8am this morning and stayed up. In fact, I have not even had a nap today and it is almost bed time. Boy am I exhausted right now!
Yay for me! I actually feel good! I got things accomplished. After Brandon woke up, but it still got done.
I spent some money on myself today too! I bought a beautiful necklace that a girl on Instagram makes and sells! (charmingjewelery). I can not wait until it comes in so I can wear it and post a picture for y'all.
Today Brandon and I played some. He walked on his own some more! And he fed himself half of a banana. My little man is growing up.
I think I will try to post daily on the things that are happening in baby Brandon and my lives.

Brandon is almost a year old!
My son, Brandon, will be ONE years old in FOUR DAYS!!!!! Where has time gone??? I feel like I just gave birth to him!
This has been one of the most amazing years of my life. Of course I miss the freedom of just jumping up and going anywhere whenever I felt like it. But this, I would not trade it for the world!!! Seriously.
Before I had him I was living my life all wrong. I did not know exactly what true love was. Having Brandon has opened my eyes to so much. I love differently. I talk differently. I am a better person, because of him!!!
He has been a little late reaching all of his milestones but he has come along just fine. He is still very small. But he is proportionate in his weight and height!
I might or might not have mentioned this before, but he is the happiest baby I have ever met! Even when he was a newborn he would only wake up to eat. Even now he only fusses when he sees a bottle or sippy cup.
We recently started to get him off of his pacifier and bottle. We quit cold turkey. He has done great so far! He did not like the sippy cups at first but now he loves it... I think! Ha. And because his teeth are still coming in, he sometimes wakes up screaming. I am 98% sure that it is because he is use to his pacifier giving him comfort and now he does not have it. I comfort him and he almost always goes right back to sleep.
This post is already a bunch of muble-jumble so let me add to it!
We co-sleep! I absolutely love it. He wakes me up almost every morning with a big kiss. He wakes his daddy up with a big smack on the face. Lol. We did not always co-sleep. He slept in his bassinet for a long time. We started co-sleeping around three or four months. Brandon(my husband) was working two jobs and to be honest with you, I wanted someone to snuggle with. My husband was always gone. I felt like a single mom sometimes. But now he only has one job so I get cuddles from two people! I am a lucky girl.

My birth story(pretty long)
My birth story...
Tuesday, January 25, 2011 I had a doctor's appointment with Dr Sunshine Willett. At the appointment she told me I was 2-3 cm and she said I would be lucky to still be pregnant by the next week. Talk about scary. Dr. Willett scheduled one last ultrasound to see how big he would be and scheduled an appointment for right after the ultrasound. She scheduled it for Wednesday, February 2, 2011.
February 1st came and I could not sleep, at all. I was craving sooo many things. I remember I put a status on FaceBook that said I wanted donuts, a big Hershey bar, chocolate, etc. Probably the worst sleep I had since being pregnant.
7am on February 2,2011 came super fast, needless to say. I MADE my exhausted self get up & not be late to my appointment.
I seen my sweet baby on the ultrasound screen. He barely had enough room to move and it was hard to make out what I was looking at. My MawMaw was the only person who came with me to the appointment.
I went to my appointment. Dr Willett checked me. She said I was at 4-5 cm and that she was admitting me. HOLY CRAP! I was about to have a baby. I didn't have my hospital bag. Heck, I did not even finish packing it!
I told my MawMaw, who was in the waiting room, that I was being admitted. She screamed out "NO SHIT! You're kidding!". She is so funny! :)
I called my husband and he did not believe that I was being admitted. He thought I was kidding.
My water was broken around 12pm and started pitocen soon afterward. I held out as long as I could before I got the epidural because I am terrified of needles.
Around 4pm I finally got the epidural. I screamed bloody murder the whole time! That was seriously the worst part of my whole pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
I was moved into another room right after I got the epidural. I was still feeling contractions when we got into the other room so they gave me more epidural.
I was trying to go to sleep the whole time I was in the hospital but someone was always calling me, coming in the room, checking me, etc. Needless to say, I got absolutely no sleep.
Around 4:30pm my dr said I was 10cm and ready for me to push. Star Trek was playing on the television. I was pushing like my life depended on it.
I pushed with everything I had. My baby boy came into the world at 4:53pm. He was not breathing. I was screaming "WHY ISN'T HE CRYING????" They started rubbing his back, cleaning him up, and auctioning him. He finally started crying. My husband told me that the cord was wrapped around his neck three times and wrapped around his body once.
My sweet baby boy weighed 5lbs 10.1oz and was 19in long.
He has group b strep so he stayed in the hospital for a week while on antibiotics. He also had a slight touch of jaundice so they also put him under the lights for two days.
He was every bit of perfect and I was and still am every bit in love with him!

Rest In Peace Tripp Roth
Today, Wednesday, January 18, 2011 a precious angel was laid to rest! Sweet baby Tripp Roth from Ponchatoula, LA went to meet God on Saturday, January 14, 2011.
I've been following Courtney and Tripp's story for a while now. Tripp had a rare skin disease known as "EB". It causes blisters all over the skin.
Their story truly changed countless lives. Courtney is a strong woman and Tripp was an angel sent from above.
I just can not imagine how she is feeling right now. I can not understand why this happened to such an innocent child! My heart aches for the family!!!

About us.
I guess I should introduce myself a little more in detail.
My name is Michelle. I am a 21 year old stay at home mom. I work once or twice a week, sometimes none at all. Well, work as in punch in and out a time clock! My work at HOME is never done!!! Me being a stay at home mom will be coming to an end soon since we need more income to eventually get a place of our own.
I am married to Brandon [NO, my son is NOT a junior!!!]. We have more than enough ups and downs in our relationship. We met through a friend and the rest is history! We have been inseparable ever since! He is an extremely hard working man and I love that about him.
Baby B!, my favorite part of any story!!! Brandon Dominic Renard S. came into the world at 37w4d. I had an ultrasound the day he was born and it revealed that his cord was wrapped around his neck(THANK GOODNESS they did not tell me that at the time. I pass out easily...) He weighed 5 pounds, 10.1 ounces and was 19 inches long. Tiny thing!
I'll do my birth story on a different post.
He is still tiny. And there's a reason why. At about 7 months(I think!) we realized he was making a wheezing noise randomly, like gasping for air. He also would wake up choking in the middle of the night. We seen his pediatrician, pediatric ENT, and pediatric pulmonary specialist to figure out what was wrong.
We had a sleep study done to see how he sleeps. Came back that he has sleep apnea, he snores, and his REM sleeping was broken up into too many fragments. He had to have a bronchoscopy performed. He didn't even look back when they carried him to the O.R. :(
The dr who performed the bronch said that he has enlarged adenoids and it would be best to remove them. No one in Baton Rouge will do surgery on an infant. So we had to rent a car a couple of times to travel to New Orleans to meet with the dr & for surgery(we had to rent a car because mine is about to die & Brandon drives a motorcycle). So at 10 months old my sweet, innocent baby was operated on.
We have another sleep study scheduled for the middle of February to see if his sleeping has improved. I HATED the sleep study. Only ONE parent can be there with him and he HAS to sleep in the crib. We co-sleep!!! So needless to say, I slept in the crib WITH him and will probably have to do so again.
Other than that, I have a healthy, happy son! He lights up any room he is in and thinks he runs things! ;)

Hello!
Hi! My name is Michelle. I'm not a great writer, at all. In fact, I'm a horrible writer! I decided(after a year of procrastination) that I would start a blog to document my son's life and my newly found hobby, sewing.
My son's name is Brandon and he is 11.5 months old right now. He's not walking yet and only says one or two words- that I can understand! But he is very clever and very much a mama's boy!
I've recently started sewing! I have been wanting to start a long time ago but a huge obstacle was standing in my way; I had no sewing machine! I finally got one from my parents for Christmas so I am ready to start!!
I have already made a few projects on my sewing machine before I decided to ACTUALLY start blogging! So far I have made a sewing machine cover with a pocket on it, a "taggie" bird, and a giraffe! My next project will be to make an elephant... I think. Sometimes I get sidetracked and start on other crafts!
I am looking forward to creating fun and cute things! I am always looking for something new to try! Inspire me!!?
